(Intermediate Workshop)
This learner-based course goes beyond the standard approaches taught in “A Framework for Project Management”. Participants experience growth in project management knowledge through group case assignments, and directed discussion related to their own project, a specific project of another group participant, or a case study of a key project selected by a representative of their organization. Each course activity will give participants the opportunity to enhance their project management skills. Up to 70 % of the course time is devoted to case work and experimental learning.

Project Managers who currently manage projects and would like to demonstrate and enhance their skills in managing projects better and more effectively. As a general rule, a candidate for this program should understand the basic concepts of project management and been formally trained in a course similar to our introduction program “A Framework for Project Management”.
Functional managers and key project stakeholders who are involved or are impacted by enterprise-wide projects or special projects within their organization.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Develop a Project Charter to gain formal authorization and sponsorship to begin project planning
Gather sufficient project requirements (business & technical)
Determine an effective project strategy and alternative project strategies
Build a
complete, realistic project plan with the following components that can be
implemented with a high confidence level of meeting customer acceptance

- Project Organization

Monitor and control project status using Earned Value Analysis
Communicate appropriate and effective status reports and updates to all project stakeholders
Influence project stakeholders to obtain positive results for meeting project goals without authority or with minimum authority
Manage unexpected circumstances and requirements effectively.
Develop a project closure summary to officially close the project and report final project results
Recognize the responsibilities of successfully managing/leading multiple projects simultaneously or large programs that consist of several projects
Be familiar with the functions of the Program Management Office (PMO) and how the PMO and Portfolio Management can provide greater probability of successful project delivery.
